Knoll House

In 1971 a new main residence was built on a knoll with 360 degree views of Santa Ynez Valley and San Rafael Mountains — The Knoll House | President’s Residence. The President’s Residence is strategically sited with glorious 360 degree views overlooking the San Ynez Valley. Designed by Glenn Marchbanks Jr it was completed in 1972 for Ray Kroc and his newly wed third wife Joan and known as the “Round House”. Circular in design, the home served as a sanctuary from the rest of the ranch and a place for special events, as it’s well suited for entertaining with versatile spaces such as dining, western style bar, piano living room, and library all emanating from a grand central fireplace and cozy conversation spot.
